Designing a Home That Makes You Happy
There are a ton of interior designers out there who’ll design for just about anybody—anyone, any room, at any time. And while that business model works for some, I’m not like them. I’m different. Dixie Willard Design is different. I don’t just want to help you find an aesthetically pleasing mix of hard and soft finishes, I want to give you MORE.
Why? Because I believe that—above all else—you deserve a home that makes you happy the moment you walk in the door.
Yep, a home that makes YOU feel happy! Not a house that’s pretty and polished but cold, and not a house that reflects MY tastes and personality (I’m not going to be living there!). Nope, we’re going to make you a space that feels warm, inviting, and truly your own—a REAL home!
As a raging introvert, I’ve always needed a place away from the chaos of the world where I could relax and rejuvenate. Even when I was a child/teenager, I would do anything I could to make my spaces feel more cozy—and more my own.
Having been a military dependent for most of my life, I’ve lived in quite a few different places. No matter where we lived, I would section my bedroom off into smaller, cozier zones. I experimented with different arrangements (sometimes on a weekly basis), always looking for THE composition that would make me feel cozy, recharged, and happy.
Later, when I was in design school, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition started airing on TV. That was when I realized just how powerful design could be—not just for me, but for everyone. Sure, the timelines were ridiculously short and the décor was sometimes a bit over-the-top, but it was amazing to see the transformation that design could make in people’s lives. I knew then that I was on the right path, and that my goal would be to create more than just pretty rooms—it was to create joy and comfort in the lives of my clients.
So, when I say you deserve a home that makes you happy the moment you walk in the door, I mean it. And the only way to get that is to make sure it works for YOUR life and tells YOUR story.
