Family-Friendly Living Rooms Really Can Look Good
Second, disposable furniture takes up a ridiculous amount of space in landfills. I’m just going to put this out there: if you reduce/reuse/recycle, only use cloth napkins and diapers, eat organic fruits and veggies, and make sure to compost BUT you buy cheap, disposable furniture? You’re not exactly sticking to your own standards. In fact, you’re counteracting them BIG time.
And third, investing in pieces that can stand up to the wear and tear of an active family can actually SAVE you money. Repeatedly replacing cheap furniture adds up quickly. In the long run, you’ll end up spending more than if you had gone with better quality in the first place. Not to mention that choosing the right furniture for your space (instead of making do with placeholders) will make your home function so, so much BETTER. I don’t know about you, but the time and frustration saved and the peace of mind gained by having pieces that can actually work FOR me is worth far more than the money I spent on them.
Distressed furniture can be your friend. Any marks made by overly-enthusiastic play time just add more character.
Storage pieces that are pretty but practical will make your household run so much smoother!
